Teacher module – legal framework

The structure of the teacher training programme at the University of Opole, as at other Polish universities, is based on several key pieces of legislation that govern teacher training and the education system in Poland. The most important of these are as follows:

  1. Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 25 July 2019 on the standard of training for the teaching profession Act of 26 January 1982
  2. The Teachers’ Charter – sets out the rights and duties of teachers, as well as the rules governing their training and career progression. This Act is crucial for establishing standards for teachers’ work in Polish schools
  3. The Act of 20 July 2018 on Education (in the context of education reform) – introduces changes to the teacher training system, which also affects the structure of the teacher training module. The reforms aim to improve the quality of education and prepare teachers for the challenges of modern education.

These national legal frameworks form the basis for the organisation of the teacher training module at the University of Opole, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and educational standards.

The internal regulations of the University of Opole are governed by Order No. 78/2025 of the Rector of the University of Opole dated 31 July 2025
