Admission step-by-step

Below you will find a detailed guide regarding the process of enrollment. The two sets of instructions correspond to whether or not a candidate holds the right to study free of charge.

Admission for candidates who are allowed to study free of charge

Register in the IRK system.

  • Your personal details have to be entered according to your international passport.
  • The correspondence address must be correct and include the country name, postal code, city, street name, building number, and optionally, apartment number.
  • Your photo must meet the provided requirements.
  • The information about your education must be complete with scans of your certificates/diplomas attached. After you sign up for a programme you will be able to provide the rest of necessary files. All of the required documents have to be attached in the “Enclosure of scanned documents for foreigners” section as well.
  • Read the description of the programme you want to sign up for and enter the corresponding grades from your high school certificate or university diploma (your grades must be converted according to the Polish grading system).
  • Sign up for the programme.
  • Attach scans of all required documents in the ‘Uploading Scanned Documents by Foreigners’ section, which you will find directly under the application for the chosen programme.
  • Pay the registration fee (85 PLN / Faculty of Art – 150 PLN) to the individual bank account number generated by the IRK system or via the Autopay platform (instant transfer).
  • Your application will be evaluated only after your registration fee payment is reflected in the IRK system.

Once the registration fee has been credited to your individual account, your educational documents have been verified as admissable and the language proficiency requirement has been met, you can be qualified for the programme – your status in the IRK system will change for “Qualified”. You will be notified about this by e-mail.

We will accept your application only if all required documents are attached to your IRK account and you meet the conditions for the chosen study program.

If you do not have the appropriate document confirming your knowledge of Polish/English at the required level, you should participate in a language interview to confirm your language skills. Details about the language interviews can be found in the ‘Language Requirements’ tab.

After being qualified in the IRK system, the candidate is required to submit the originals of all required documents along with their copies. The documents should be delivered to the Department of Foreign Candidate Recruitment (room 310, Oleska 48, 45-052 Opole) either in person or by mail. If sent by mail, the candidate must provide notarized copies. The deadline for submitting documents is specified in the recruitment schedule. In the case of mail delivery, the date of receipt of the documents by the university is decisive, not the date of dispatch.

After submitting the originals of the required documents, you will receive the Admission Decision. The decision, along with the remaining documents, will be sent to the email address provided in the IRK system. If you need the original documents, please email us at study@uni.opole.pl, and we will send them via Polish Post, or you can arrange a courier at your own expense, but don’t forget to inform us about it.

Remember that the academic year starts on October 1st, and for newly admitted students, an Orientation Day will take place in the last days of September, with the exact date to be announced to you.
